I've been covering basketball-college and professional for a long, long time. I've been to my share of Final Fours and NBA Finals, but nothing compares to what happened last night when little "David" University of Maryland Baltimore County, a number 16 seed beat the mighty "Goliath" the consensus number one team in the country, the University of Virginia in Charlotte during the first round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. It is the very first time a number 16 seed has handed a number one seed a loss. Amazing to be there covering the games as a freelancer for the Associated Press.
I honestly thought I was starting to tire, aiming my camera at young college basketball players, but yesterday's upset instilled that passion. Sure put a smile on my face.
And I thought this would be a great spot to share some of the transmitted photos I made last night.
